About Us
Freshtripe is a specialist online bike-store founded by Paul Younger, originally based in the fair city of Bath in the UK.
 
After spending too long searching the world-wide-web for that all-important “finishing touch” for his project bikes, he decided to import some of the finer overseas items he had found.
 
Sourcing and selling parts and bikes for over two years, Paul passed the reigns onto his brother Jamie in 2009 and the company relocated to Cambridge.
 
Your local bike shop probably doesn’t stock these items - nothing essential, but all very nice nevertheless!
 
What We Sell
We are the official UK & European distributor for Velo Orange and resellers for Paul Component Engineering, YancoPads, Oury Grips, Nitto, Dia Compe and and we have stocks of other rare NOS (new-old-stock), vintage and custom parts.
 
Most items are bought direct from overseas manufacturers and are slightly cheaper than it would cost you to import yourself (once shipping and taxes taken into account). Plus, if its in stock, you get it in a couple of days, rather than 2-3 weeks…

Availability
We try to keep most of our most popular items in stock – if there is a ‘run’ on a popular item, we will attempt to restock within 5-10 days.
 
Certain items, particularly from ‘boutique’ manufacturers such as Paul Component Engineering, are restocked more infrequently.
 
Because of the nature of some of the items we sell (e.g. NOS, vintage and custom stock) certain products will never be restocked.
 
Please do not hesitate to contact us on the availability on any items.
 
Custom Orders
We are happy to custom order anything from the range of suppliers listed above.
 
Waiting time can vary from 1-8 weeks depending on the type / quantity of the order. We will advise on price and likely waiting time at the point of enquiry and we usually require a deposit to process the order.
 
Shipping
Most items are dispatched within 24 hours (Mon-Fri) – occasionally, a particular product may not be available for immediate despatch. In the event that we cannot meet our usual delivery times, we will notify you of the expected delivery date by e-mail, and give you the option to cancel your order.
 
Within the UK the majority of items are shipped via Royal Mail. Small items (up to 2kg) are sent by ‘First Class Recorded Delivery’ or ‘Special Delivery’ depending on value and larger items (over 2kg, mudguards, wheels, frames etc) by courier.
 
Please note that shipping prices quoted on the website are for the UK only – we’re happy to ship abroad, please just contact us for an international shipping quote.
 
We recommend shipping small international orders by Royal Mail’s ‘International Signed For’ service as this is tracked and insured; if you request an item to be sent by standard Airmail it is at your own risk. Large international orders are sent by courier (Parcelforce, DHL etc), but please note that they now operate a ‘volume-based’ tariff which makes sending bulky items, like frames and rims, rather expensive...
 
We don’t aim to make any money on PP - sometimes you may be charged a bit too much, other times too little, but overall we’re just looking to break-even.
 
If you think the delivery of your goods is overdue, please contact us so we can track your package.
 
Security
We have a secure online card processing facility provided by Paypal.
 
Any sensitive financial information is securely stored on Paypal’s servers – we just receive an email payment from PayPal without ever seeing your financial information.
 
If you prefer, you can contact us to arrange payment by cash, cheque or bank transfer – we will not store your payment details.
 
Returns
Our returns policy does not affect your statutory rights.
 
New items from Velo-Orange, Paul Component Engineering, YancoPads, Oury Grips carry the manufacturer’s standard guarantee. If a problem develops with any of these items, you should return it to us. We will in turn mail it to the manufacturer.
 
NOS, custom or one-off items carry a 14-day warranty.
 
If you have received incorrect (referenced against your order receipt) or damaged goods, we will give a full refund. In the case of a refund for damaged goods, we reserve the right to an independent opinion on whether the goods qualify for a refund.
 
In the case of incorrect (referenced against your order receipt) or damaged goods, we will reimburse the cost of you posting the goods back to us as long as the cost has been agreed first.

Privacy Policy and Data Protection
We are committed to protecting your privacy.
 
We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998) and according to the Which? Web Trader Code of Practice.
 
We collect information about you for two reasons: firstly, to process your order and second, to provide you with the best possible service.
 
We will not e-mail you in the future unless you have given us your consent.
 
We do not disclose your information to third parties (except for delivery purposes).
