Vintage Porteur (54cm)
This is a machine that speaks of the origins of the fixed wheel courier* - those brave souls who used to ride across Paris’ cobbled streets to deliver 50kg of newspapers at the crack of dawn.
The front rack is a more modestly-sized item than those of yore, but this bike is designed to be up to the job, whatever the weather or conditions. Full mudguards and chaincase (not pictured) keep your clothes in pristine condition. 27” wheel with wide tyres help soak up the bumps and CNC-machined retro-style LEDs light the way.
The frame is 531-tubed Dawes Galaxy, perfect for comfy, fully-loaded riding. There is a bit of French-fancy in the form of the TA cranks, Mafac brakes and Belleri bars and stem. Hubs and seat-post are tasty Campag items and, of course, there are lashings of lovely leather!
