ILD Fixie (56cm)
A collaboration with zeitgeist-riding designers ilovedust (ILD), this fixie fuses BMX, dirt jump, downhill and track influences to result in a street bike that’s down with the kids!
ILD’s encouraged us to push the boundaries of normal fixie practice, so we have:
• Contrasting wheels, with Velocity Deep-V rims and Goldtec hubs in a 4-cross, double-laced basket-weave or some-such... one thing’s for sure - they ain’t gonna bend in a hurry!
• 3-piece Deity “cast-iron” cranks - perfecting the chainline (following the manufacturer’s own instructions) involved a hitting a small metal collar with a large hammer... these downhillers, eh?
• Some choice track parts - Miche Supertype seatpost and NOS Rolls Saddle.
• Some equally choice MTB parts - Thomson stem, Azonic “Strip” Bars, Oury grips and Chris King headset.
• And finally, BMX flatties and no brakes...just asking for trouble, I know...
