A ground-up rebuild of my wife’s long-termer, originally a “skip-find” many years ago... Certain important details had to stay (such as the Zebadee bell), but it has been treated to a full bare-metal re-spray by Argos Cycles.
The colour is an authentic light, satin green with original BSA transfers applied. The chainguard was re-sprayed in gloss black to match the new, Raleigh-style mudguards with their “racy” (ahem) chrome tip and mudflap.
The wheels have had a bombproof rebuild - the original Sturmey Archer hubs, laced with plain-gauge stainless steel spokes onto stainless Westrick rims (Sheldon Brown’s “strongest ever”!)
Finally, the honey leather contact points are a mix of Brooks and BBB - very english, very Miss Marple! Wicker basket to follow...
And, after its first rebuild 40 years ago...
