This is a 1980s Marlboro racing bike (one time owners of Holdsworth) which has been transformed into a vintage-style "scorcher".
The build takes its inspiration from early european cyclo-touring or randonneuring cycles - it is a comfortable bike that can be used around town, on the tow-path, or even on a ramble down your favorite dirt road. It has unfashionable stuff like mudguards and a bell so you don't ruin yourself (or anyone else) and, crucially, these items are integrated with the bike and don't spoil the look of it (like they do on so many new bikes...)
The parts are largely NOS or Vintage and sourced from Europe, Japan and the States - I've tried to avoid mass-produced, far-eastern parts where possible. There is also a smattering of honey coloured leather goods on the bike (from Brooks and others) - hard-wearing and lovely to the touch, some of it is even hand-stitched by me!
The new, stove enamel, paintjob is gorgeous (the pictures don't do it justice) - hats of to Argos cycles as usual...
...hopefully an improvement on before:
